A Complete Parking Garage in Amsterdam

Recently, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at a remarkable project carried out by Malema Coatings in Amsterdam. In the underground parking garage of an impressive skyscraper, the existing floor across four levels was completely renovated. The old blue floor was replaced with a fresh concrete grey finish, immediately giving the parking garage a much lighter and more modern appearance.



For this project, the Quartzline EUROPark system was chosen. The floor build-up consisted of Primer BHH, followed by SL-EP Scratchcoat, broadcast with 0.4–0.8 natural quartz. As the final finish, Coating EPG in RAL 7023 was applied. The result is a seamless, anti-slip floor that not only looks sleek, but is also able to withstand intensive use.

A project like this naturally comes with its challenges. The parking garage, for example, remained in use throughout the works. Thanks to a well-organized team of around ten professionals from Malema Coatings, the floor could be tackled step by step without compromising on quality.

From sanding and priming to applying the scratchcoat, the EPG topcoat and, finally, the line marking, we were able to capture the entire process. And in our opinion, the end result was absolutely worth it. The new concrete grey colour creates a fresh, bright appearance and gives the entire parking garage a modern look.

Before starting a project, we always discuss the system with Theo. This is now the second major project we have completed using the same system, and we are very satisfied with the results.
